DROPSHIPS, SPACESHIPS & STEAMPUNK CRUISERS - PART 3

I've gathered a few more samples from the Web, showcasing futuristic Spaceships and Dropships. Dropships can be viewed as Aerial Personnel Carriers [a variant of the "APC" abbreviation], which can hover above the ground and climb into high altitudes. Most dropships have VTOL - Vertical Take-Off and Landing - capabilities, which make them extremely versatile on the battle field, or for transporting bulk cargo.

And Spaceships usually refers to an internally pressurized craft that can travel through the exosphere of space, from one planet to another. Along the creative vein of spaceships, we also have fighters, bombers, armadas, warships, and battle cruisers; and there are different defining boundaries that describe the various crafts that fall into those categories.

Perhaps one of the most popular "dropship-styled helicopters" is the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey [shown in this past article], which was utilized in the Transformers Movie Trilogy directed by Michael Bay, for transporting NEST troops and the Autobots around the globe. Concept designs / artwork from the Halo Wars franchise and another video game called Section 8: Prejudice are presented below:

The three spaceship / dropship wallpapers shown above were done by digital artist Ignacio Bazan Lazcano [we'll showcase more of his outstanding work in the near future]. And the orthogonal overview images below were done by the Bungie design team for Microsoft, owner of Halo Wars.

In the last row, the first alien dropship is from Halo, while the next one is by Indian concept artist, Dhilip Kumar Somesh [His cool blog is HERE]. And the last two high-speed spaceships that resemble Transformers / Decepticon crafts are by British concept artist Jon McCoy.
The sleekest looking dropship I've seen so far comes from Star Wars: the Old Republic video game and its called the Phantom X-70B. I think it may actually be an armada class vessel per its large size. And a sample of its large comfy interior is shown as well.
