I recently did a commission of Wolverine for a hardcore fan. And it turned out quite well. This is the pencil version of the poster, showing the basic shades prior to the inking stage. Marvel Comics' Wolverine [aka Logan] is probably one of the most commissioned male superhero characters of all time. Created by writer Len Wein and Marvel art director John Romita, Sr., Wolverine made his debut back in 1974, on a cover in which he was battling against the Incredible Hulk. Wolve was an instant hit back then. Now fast forward to the 21st century, and he is still just as popular. He did make a brief cameo in the X-Men First Class movie and there should be another Wolverine Movie staring Hugh Jackman in the next 2 years.
Speaking of Hugh Jackman, the second Wolverine portrait on the right side is by an artist at DA called Jovee. And this young lady takes drawing to another level. You can tell that she takes time to create the darkened layers, while varying the intensity of her pencil strokes. And that leads to the perfection of her realistic work.
