OFFICIAL AVENGERS MOVIE ARTWORK FROM SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON 2011!

Avengers Assemble...

Those privileged to go to the world's most famous annual geek-fest going on right now [July 21 - 24] were granted access to a host of images and special previews, including official artwork promoting the forthcoming Avengers Movie slated for summer of 2012. I heard that those who watched the special screening of Captain America: The First Avenger at the Comic-Con got so see about 2 minutes worth of extra footage at the end, featuring clips from the Avengers movie [which I think is in post-production right now].

Anyway, the general consensus is that the Avengers movie will kick ass, so fans have something to look forward to next year. Here are some cool posters done by artists Ryan Meinerding and Charlie Wen, which were being handed out at the Marvel both today over in San Diego.

The fan-made poster above shows The Avengers cast from the classic comic book story-lines. And it includes a few characters that are not going to be presented in the forthcoming movie.


Main Cast for The Avengers 2012 Movie: Robert Downey Jr [Ironman], Chris Evans [Captain America], Scarlett Johansson [Black Widow], Jeremy Renner [Hawkeye], Mark Ruffalo [Incredible Hulk], Chris Hemsworth [Thor],  Samuel L. Jackson [Nick Fury] and Tom Hiddleston [Loki, the main villain; its rumored that he will recruit the Skrulls to combat the Avengers].

The last two images are presented for the female members of my blog.... that buff dude without his t-shirt is Chris Evans, aka Captain America. A host of new pictures with the costumed Marvel superheroes from the production set of The Avengers movie [currently being filmed] have surfaced on the Web and they were added in this other Blog Article.

THE AVENGERS 2012 MOVIE REVIEW!

Believe The Hype! [A few spoilers included, plus Avengers behind the scenes & on set images]

All right, I saw this movie over the weekend and I will say that it was impressive. Overall, director Joss Whedon [creator of the popular Buffy the Vampire Slayer 1997 TV series and the Firefly 2002 Cable TV series] was able to contrive a storyline that will please Marvel comic book veterans as well as newbies to the Avengers' superhero franchise.

At the end of the movie, the legendary artist/creator Stan lee was credited as an executive producer - I'm still not certain on what his work on the movie was, but perhaps he served as a creative consultant. Also, the final script of the movie executed by Joss Whedon was actually written first by Zak Penn, before Joss took things over and started modifying it to fit his own expensive tastes.

Iron Man's latest exo-suit combat armor is showcased above [either the Mark V, VI, VII or VIII.... I've lost count at this juncture].

Yes, Joss Whedon's tastes in terms of mega-movie production and epic battle scales are flashy and expensive; while sitting in the theater watching the 3D presentation, I specifically said to myself at two separate junctures: "This damn movie must have cost at least 200 million dollars to create all the special effects."
Guess what? I was wrong. I did the research and found that The Avengers movie cost approximately 220 million dollars. And that doesn't take into consideration the extra 15 - 20 million dollars spent on their global advertising campaign.

NEW PICTURES FROM THE SET OF THE AVENGERS 2012 MOVIE

EDIT: New movie posters of Iron Man, the Hulk & others have been added to the Avengers 2012 Movie Review posted HERE!

According to chatter over the Web, over the past weekend the cast of the forthcoming Avengers 2012 movie were seen trooping about in New York City, as several high-octane chase scenes were being filmed. Captain America [Chris Evans], Hawkeye [Jeremy Renner] and Black Widow [Scarlett Johansson] are featured in the first image. And there's a pic that shows the quarrelsome brothers, Loki [Tom Hiddleston] and Thor [Chris Hemsworth]. Out of all the superhero costumes on display in these images, I think Hawkeye looks the coolest.

I'm wondering where Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. [aka the infamous Tony Stark] are at this point.... And where is the HULK??
