THE BLACK CAT, PART 3

Two recent pics to showcase today. The first is by me and the second pinup is by Terry Dodson.

Terry Dodson recently went to France for a comic convention / store signing, hence he did the promo poster on the right, above. More Black Cat posters in this blog:

EXPLORING DSNG - PART 11: THE USUAL & UNUSUAL SUPSECTS [PLUS CONCEPT ART]

Earlier today I got a facebook note from a guy who asked me "... what does DSNG mean?"
I've been asked that question for years. And a fan at DA once said, "Does it stand for Digital Satellite News Gathering?"
Yeah, that is one of the interpretations of the DSNG acronym.

But in this case, its stands for DESTINY SERIES THE NEO-GENESIS and the first DSNG sketches date back to 1999, done when I was still learning to draw in an old notebook. That header is a bit too long for comics and book covers, hence I use the brief 4-letter word "DSNG". You can check out the original article on exploring the futuristic sci-fi universe over here:
EXPLORE THE DSNG SERIES - PART 1
I've recently added some cool new pics to it, including a new beautiful pic of Wandah, the female Kataran surgeon.

Now back to the topic at hand. There are certain names and faces that you behold, over and over again when you observe the DSNG sci fi series. For example:
These characters can be tagged as the Usual Suspects. And most of them are featured in the five DSNG Chronicles ebooks available for download at Amazon.com.

All of these characters are featured in DSNG Book 4 and DSNG Book 5.

The term "Unusual Suspects" is tied to a new short story that I wrote this month. And it features Commander Yatalia Yentoshima.

[Book Cover for DSNG TALES: UNUSUAL SUSPECT]

The short 150-page story is centered upon an undercover operation consigned to the hands of the skilled female Alpha Senturi soldier. She is joined by Prince Azzar and two other supporting Black-Ops operatives, Captain Payne Hall and Diane Price. And Yatalia takes on the mission in order to clear her name. Independent from the other 5 ebooks in the current DSNG Pentalogy, this story is designed as a sci fi action/adventure & thriller; and it takes place over a span of about a week.

Posters / pinups of some other focal characters in the story:

From top left, Clockwise: Azzar Omenus, Laura Dubois, Yatalia Yentoshima and Sensei Yamaguchi. Yatalia is wearing a tight body-hugging outfit that's almost like latex - there are several latex / fetish pinup galleries on-line with costumes like that.

Prince Azzar is the Senior Commanding Officer [SCO] of the Centura, the united military forces of planet Avera. He's the guy on the cover of Book 1. Laura is the District Attorney [the DA] of South Philadelphia - one of the six mega states on planet Avera - where the entire mission unfolds. Sensei Yamaguchi is a martial arts instructor who focuses on karate and kendo techniques. A new article showing Laura was posted HERE. And Yatalia, who was also on the cover of DSNG Book 4, is the focal heroine of the short story. The long-haired female warrior is actually tied to a questionable case of mass manslaughter, as the story unfolds.

Here is  the synopsis of the new ebook:
____________________________________________

The explosive sci fi adventure within the Makuran galaxy continues with this dynamic thriller from the author of the DSNG Pentalogy!

The Centura have been focused on uncovering the vile plots of the Gorilla rebel militia for the past few years and now there appears to be a new devious faction that threatens the peace and safety of the civilians in the mega state of South Philadelphia. This new group of mobsters is known as the Barracudas, and their diabolical acts of destruction around the neo-industrial cities of Luxemburg and Bronzeville soon warrant an espionage mission.

The mission is adopted by Commander Yatalia Yentoshima who assigns a black-Ops team to hunt down the lower-ranking members of the Barracudas—who are rumored to be in league with the Gorillas, the notorious IP-terrorist group. Yatalia is a resilient Alpha Senturi soldier with an outstanding resume. She has the mental resolve to get the job done at all costs and the strict orders she gives to her subservient stealth operatives on this new espionage mission fully reflect her intrepid mindset.

The trail of evidence leads the sponsored Black-Ops team of ten Alpha Senturi soldiers to a particular towering hotel that is under construction, and a violent shootout soon ensues between the assembled Barracudas and the soldiers sponsored by the Centura [aka the military force of planet Avera]. An air strike is soon sanctioned and four fearsome Advantor X–50 hyper jets are called in to wipe out the multistory safe house. The towering hotel is soon devastated by streaking warheads and the city is flung into a state of chaos.

The air raid had taken place within a commercial area, resulting in the deaths of over 200 people. And now a peculiar investigation begins to unfold, as the shocked local government officials and enraged human rights organizations strive to uncover the reason for the blatant attack that terminated several innocent civilians.

While maintaining a defiant mindset, Commander Yatalia prepares to eventually be prosecuted, since she is the one who adamantly gave the green light for the air strike. But there appears to be more to this attack than meets the eye, per some covert details that the high-ranking female soldier observed prior to the sanctioning of the aerial bombardment.

Another undercover mission commences and Yatalia is caught up in a race against time to track down the Barracudas and clear her name, before she is forced to stand trial in a federal court for committing an unimaginable act of manslaughter in the city of Luxemburg. The explosive action and covert espionage efforts lead her on a winding investigative trail as she strives to prove that the air strike was a necessity and not just an impetuous order on her part. Yet she has no idea of the web of deceit that she is poised to encounter as she traces an unusual suspect!

Join the adventure and discover the truth in this action packed thriller!

Rated M for Mature audiences.    Promo price for a limited time: $0.99; ebook page count: 150.

FAN ART OF MARVEL'S DOMINO!

Domino aka (Neena Thurman) is a feisty comic character owned by Marvel Inc. and she's actually a B-class character with A-class potential [that means she more of a sidekick than a focal heroine]. Someone like Wolverine is an Alpha --> an A-class character, even though he works in teams; yet he always stands out as a bad-ass.

Domino has excellent hand-to-hand combat skills and is often presented as a marksman / sniper for the X-men / X-force. SHe often comes across a Special Forces / Black-ops soldier, who still has a sexy appeal. And in the original storyline, she was the girlfriend of a guy named Cable. She has peculiar jinxing powers that alter probability, meaning that bad things happen to her opponents when they get around her. Thus in a shootout, the gun of her foe has a 99% probability of jamming right before a kill-shot is issued against her, and that foe will probably trip and fall as well when they try to flee, making them an easier target for her. That's definitely some A-class potential, because she could probably kill a host of sadistic super villains in a 1-on-1 contest. But of course, I'm not a writer for Marvel. I write the dynamic ebooks for DSNG sci fi series.

The pic below was also showcased in a music video with other sexy superhero chicks I've drawn, posted over here: http://dsngsfm.blogspot.com/2011/06/dsng-music-video-featuring-marveldc.html

EDIT: The Mystique poster was added recently. I drew this during the same period in which the Domino pic was done [both pics were posted it at DA]. Figured I'd toss it up here, as more eye candy per the "superhero girls with guns" theme...

In the classic Domino pic above, she's presented as a sexy sniper with a 50 caliber heavy machine gun [often abbreviated as a HMG], probably a variant of the Barrett M82. That particular weapon was utilized in the movie Smokin' Aces [released back in 2006] where Alicia Keys' partner in crime used the large machine gun to shoot into a lofty hotel room, from another adjacent hotel room in a building less than 500 feet away... at that close range [relative to the full lethal range of the weapon] the large bullets were knocking the Feds across the room per the immense impact from the instant kill-shots.

More pics of Domino from the Web:

OK, the third pic doesn't have Domino in it... but its got a bunch of other sexy chicks from Marvel comics drawn by Terry Dodson, my art mentor. His stuff is categorized as Cheesecake Art, along with the works by the "Monkey Man" Frank Cho [the guy who drew the middle poster].

THE GREAT ONE [DWAYNE JOHNSON] JOINS THE CAST OF G.I. JOE 2: RETALIATION

**EDIT - THIS MOVIE HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO MARCH 29, 2013!!**

According to Deadline.com, there was a recent report on Monday that The Rock [Dwayne Johnson] will be joining the cast of the sequel sci-fi action movie, titled G.I. JOE: Retaliation. This movie was initially called Cobra Strikes.

__________________________
From www.deadline.com, June 6th:

After seeing his stock rise from starring in Fast Five, Dwayne Johnson is in talks to join another sequel. I'm told Johnson is in discussions with Paramount to join G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes. That's the overhauled sequel that'll be directed by Jon M. Chu, who helmed Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Johnson's role is a character named Roadblock. I'm also hearing that Channing Tatum is a good bet to return. The picture has become an important one for Paramount, which will have to scratch the Star Trek sequel from its summer 2012 schedule and will likely put this film in its place. After Johnson helped boost The Fast and the Furious franchise (he's also in talks to be part of the sixth film in that franchise), Paramount hopes he can help here as well.
__________________________

CHECK OUT THE LATEST MOVIE TRAILER FOR G.I.JOE 2 RETALIATION BELOW!

All right, so we know that The Rock is up for the role of Roadblock, the heavy machine gunner and cook. This character was a cousin of Heavy Duty, another tough black guy from the original cartoon series. Heavy Duty was in the first G.I. JOE film and he was played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje: a buff intrepid guy with a Nigerian heritage, who has a cool British accent. Channing Tatum is expected to return as the heroic team leader Duke, but villains Joseph Gordon-Levitt [Cobra Commander] and Sienna Miller [who played the role of Baroness] are unlikely to return at this juncture. This almost makes me suspect that this movie will be a complete reboot of the original series.

EDIT: Its been rumored that French actress Elodie Yung has also joined the cast of the sequel, and she'll be playing the role of Jinx, a female ninja with the JOEs.

SECOND EDIT made on 06/29/2011:

According to HeatVision.com, Rapper RZA and D.J. Contra have both joined the cast of the new G.I.JOE flick. RZA [known publicly as the leader of the classic East Coast rap group called the Wu-Tang Clan], will be playing the role of the Blind Master: the blind martial arts mentor of Snake-Eyes and Jinx. And D.J. Contra will play the role of Flint, the beret-wearing, shotgun-wielding master tactician.

On Friday July 1 2011, Deadline.com reported that Adrianne Palicki has been tapped to play the female lead role in G.I. JOE 2. Her character will be Lady Jaye and she joins The Rock and Channing Tatum as part of the focal cast. Interesting thing is, she was available for this prominent role because the new Wonder Woman TV Show was cancelled by NBC earlier this year.

That show had a lot of mixed reviews from the NBC execs, following a private screening held back in May 2011 - and the critics that got to see the pilot episode hammered it with harsh negative reviews. Thus it will not be in the fall 2011 TV lineup of prime-time shows.

Adrianne Palicki is shown below, in a sexy red dress [screenshot from the G.I. JOE 2 Movie]

The previous blog article I did concerning the cancelled Wonder Woman TV Show was posted HERE.

The guy who played Snake Eye's nemesis in the first JOE Movie, Storm Shadow, is back. His name is Lee Byeong-heon. He is a martial arts star from Korea, and he is also a model and a singer. He's got a stone-cold persona, so the villainous role fits him very well. That's him below on the left. And Storm Shadow is shown with the Baroness in the second picture [a clip from the first JOE Movie].

Also, General Joesph Colton [the original G.I. JOE] will be portrayed by action star Bruce Willis in this movie sequel. And he was the old-timer shown at the very end of the trailer clip above.
____________________________________________________

The original sci-fi action flick, G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA, hit theaters back in 2009. It featured the bad guys utilizing hordes of tiny nanotech inspired creatures called nanites to devastate the world, city by city. And the covert Special Forces team called the JOES were called in to lay down the law.
Channing was the focal character and he was accompanied by Marlon Wayans  [who played Ripcord] and their on-screen chemistry as comrades was perfect. I enjoyed this one so much that I bought the DVD later. That first movie was directed by Stephen Summers [who also directed The Mummy and The Mummy Returns]. And this prequel, G.I.JOE:TROC , cost 175 million dollars per its production budget, while the spectacular visuals showcased in the movie were proof of its lofty price. Although it earned 150-mil domestically that summer, it still grossed a total of about 302 million dollars world wide, making it a huge success for a franchise that initially started as an outlet for selling toys back in the 80s.

In my opinion, Summers should have been brought back by Paramount Pictures to direct the sequel. I'm guessing he's tied up producing another action flick that has clashing deadlines. I did some research on Jon Chu [the selected director for G.I. JOE 2] and found that he's never done an action flick before. He was the guy behind the dance movies: Step Up 2 and Step Up 3-D. Perhaps his latest demo reel was just so damn good that the studio figured they'd select him... or maybe the Special-FX budget for part 2 [ G.I. JOE:CS ] will push it into the Star Wars range in terms of the production scope.

We'll have to keep an eye on this project to see how it develops, since the rumor is there are a lot of casting changes going on, which will bring different faces to the core team and the villains, in contrast to those featured in the first G.I. JOE movie...

BTW, as of JULY 2011, the movie title has been changed to G.I. JOE 2: Retaliation

And lets hope they bring back the three characters shown below.
Clockwise: Ripcord, Scarlett, movie clips from G.I. JOE:TROC and Snake Eyes.

OFFICIAL POSTERS FOR TRANSFORMERS 3: DARK OF THE MOON

EDIT: The NEW POSTERS are at the bottom of the page, after the Youtube Video!

I recently found some extensive spoilers on the web for this movie, tied to the plot... Relax, I'm not going to post them here. But I will admit that this third Transformers movie kicks major ass. It is already destined to be better than Parts 1 and 2, from what I've read. Enjoy the posters of Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, and let the countdown to July 1st 2011 begin...

The classic Decepticon Shockwave is shown as well in the first billboard banner above. And here is a preview clip of the video game set to accompany the forthcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie:

AMAZING TRANSFORMERS ROTF & DOTM ARTWORK !!

All right, I found a bunch of cool digital paintings done by a phenomenal artist named Josh Nizzi; he does concept art for Paramount studios and Hasbro. This guy's stuff is awesome. Check it out!

Josh Nizzi is in a class all by himself. His designs / drawings of the Autobots and Decepticons are amazing and sometimes the characters that he designs / sculpts in 3D on behalf of Hasbro have differing names. For example, I found a conceptual pic of his showing Sentinel Prime, which was labelled "Ultra Magnus." His Transformers concept artwork was done many months before the latest Transformers; Dark Of The Moon movie came out. Take a closer look at some of the characters below and you'll see the dichotomies / blatant variances in their naming tags.

All of the artwork in this update section was created by Josh Nizzi.
